Detailed Tutorial

Welcome to the text-based browser game known as Vampire Genesis. The following guide has been created to help newer low leveled players, but is more detailed than the quickstart guide, you should start there. This guide is purely suggestive in nature; please act upon its advice using your better judgment.

Now that you have read though the Quickstart Guide we can take a deeper look into Vampire Genesis. There is a lot to do, and this guide is meant to help make things easier for you.

Quests

There are daily Quests that can be done for extra blood and money. Several are as simple as voting for the site, attacking other vampires and hunting the humans. As you level up, you will receive more blood and money for each quest. This is a great way to start leveling faster, they give a good balanced boost each day to those who complete quests. Complete all the quests and there is a quest alone for that, also giving a great little boost.

Question of the Day

Each day there is a new question to be answered. In return for the correct answer you will get turns (Between 10-40, depending on difficulty). This can be found under the government section and by clicking on the Question of the Day link. It's as simple as getting the answer right, no tricks. (If you feel a question has the incorrect answer, please message the moderator who made the question that day, and ask for clarification.)

Magik Spells

You will find your Magik in your lair. There it will tell you what spells you know. Currently you learn a spell, every five (5) levels, until you reach level twenty-five (25). Each costs a certain number of turns. If you are in a coven, they most likely have a guide to what each one does.

Achievements

The Achievements in this game have to be collected manually. So remember to check back often to see when you can get some new ones! You gain "ranks" with the system here. After claiming your first achievement, you will notice that the number in order to claim it again will double. This will keep happening. Always giving you more to work towards. As each rank increases, so does the reward. Achievements will earn you a good amount of blood.

You will also receive "Gamerscore" (GS) each time you get an achievement. Your Gamerscore is showed on your profile and others can see how much you have earned, without knowing which achievements you have gotten. Gamerscore, however, does not help you in the game at all. It is just to show how well you are doing.

Church

You can go to the Church each day and either be a follower of light, or of Dark. The choice is yours to make. It helps affect your alignment one way or the other (Also affected in your battles against other vampires).

Wedding Chapel

The Wedding Chapel is where you can go to marry another user. There are no benefits to being married. It will show on your profile though, and let others know that you are married.

Referrals

Referrals are the fastest way to make money when you are new. You will get $300*[your level] for each referral. So it can be a great way to get good cash in the beginning. As you gain levels, keep referring, the money only keeps getting better. You will also receive turns to use when you refer a player. One of the best things about referrals though is, once they get to level 10, you will get 3 days of premium for free. So the more you refer that stick around, the better it is for you!

Market

The Market is a place to go for cheaper weapons/armor. You can sell your old weapons there for less, and also buy weapons and armor there. This is nice if you wish to get a bit of money of the things you can no longer use. It's also great for lower leveled players, as it means you can save some money.

Blacklist

Your Blacklist will become your best way to track who you attack and is the most effective way to go through and attack players. To build your blacklist, simply view a profile, and click "Add to Blacklist" this will then add that vampire to your list, for easy attacking. Once you do not wish to attack a certain vampire anymore (be it low exp, etc...) You can easily remove them by clicking the "remove" button on the Blacklist itself.

Alignment

Alignment is gained by visiting the church each day and either praying to be good or evil. Your alignment will also be affected in battles as well. Be careful! You can switch sides in battle. Let's say for example that you are level 2, and good. If you attack someone who is also level 2, and evil , you gain 2 more alignment. But if you attack someone who is good, you will lose alignment. This will also continue to happen, attack someone at level 13 of the opposite side, you will gain 13 more. (I'm sure you get the point)

Alignment (depending on your side), can help you in battle. If you're EVIL you will deal DOUBLE your normal damage when you cast Suffering.

If you're HOLY you will heal yourself for DOUBLE your normal damage when you cast Revitalize.

Storage Facility

Death Valley's Storage Facility is always looking for more workers to help unload all of the stuff the vampires bring to be stored. Check it out today to help make yourself a bit of extra cash. The cash is worked out to be: [Your level]+4 = $[x]. So at level 1, for 10 turns you will make $5. This is just a place to work if you are low on money and wish to revive, or get that little bit extra for a weapon upgrade.

My VampireGenesis

My VampireGenesis is the place to go to see all of your friends' status updates, and check out your friends. There is also where you can edit your top friends. These people will appear on your profile. You can have up to nine (9) top friends. This can be changed at any time. Also, from here you can upload/edit your photos, edit your profile, view your profile how others see it, and a few other things.
