Rules
SECTION I - OVERVIEW
1) These rules are a guideline to in-game behavior. When in doubt, the staff will examine the intent of the rules as a whole and apply them to each situation appropriately. In layman's terms, this means that if you do something that is not covered explicitly within these rules, you may still be punished if the action merits it.
- 1a) Scot is the last word on any disputes involving these rules. He is also exempt from all of the following rules.
2) This website is a business. Any player that attempts to defame it or its staff through any means will be promptly deleted.
3) All accounts are property of the PorcelainSky portal and can be edited at any time. Selling an account, currency, or items for real-world currency is prohibited.
- 3a) Players may not have more than one account; it eliminates the spirit of fair play in the game.
- 3b) More than one user may be on the same IP, if reported to a staff member BEFORE the account is created.
4) If a player ever threatens the website, its staff, or its administration with legal action of any kind, their account will be deleted and their purchases voided.
5) BY ACCESSING THIS WEBSITE, YOU RELEASE THE SITE AND ITS ADMINISTRATOR FROM ANY LIABILITY OF IN-GAME ACTIONS. YOU ALSO WHOLLY AGREE TO THE GAME'S TERMS AND CONDITIONS, ACCESSIBLE HERE.
SECTION II - GENERAL IN-GAME RULES FOR PLAYERS
1) Players may not discriminate against any other players on the basis of national or racial origin, religious belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
- 1a) Players may not discriminate against site administration on the basis of their position.
2) Players may not have offensive names.
3) Players may not impersonate a staff member, whether through their actions, name, or name color (e.g., Moderator Blue, any color variation or Admin Orange, any color variation).
4) Players may not harass any other player. Harassment is considered any unwanted communication that is either excessive in number or severe in content. If a player feels they have been harassed, they should immediately contact a staff member.
5) Players may not disclose game secrets. This includes, but is not limited to, Question of the Day (QotD) answers and Hangman answers.
6) Players may not place items in the marketplace for ridiculous sums of money.
- 6a) With the exception of items requiring premium to purchase, putting an item in the marketplace for more than its value at the Dungeon Armory is not allowed.
-- i) Listing a premium-required item from the Dungeon Armory with more than a 25% mark-up.
-- ii) Vials are an exemption to this rule. However, heinous amounts (amounts which deviate heavily from the market average) will be handled appropriately.
- 6c) In the event of a new item costing alternate currency, this rule will be relaxed until a fair average cost can be determined.
7) Players may not attempt to hack or reverse-engineer the game in any way; players found doing so will be promptly deleted and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
- 7a) Players may not use game bugs to advance their account; bugs should be reported to staff immediately.
8) Players should respect administration. If a disagreement occurs, they may politely request another staff member to review the situation.
- 8a) Contact another staff member within 48 hours and include a full screenshot if possible.
- 8b) Await a reply and do not message more than one staff member or repeat the same complaint.
9) Players are restricted in their profile editing.
- 9a) Players may not hide or obfuscate any buttons or advertisements.
- 9b) Headers may not exceed 250 pixels in height.
- 10) Using an auto refresher on Coven Wars is a jailable offense and will occur without warning.
- 11) "User Request" jailings are no longer granted. If you no longer wish to play, simply stop logging in.
SECTION III - GENERAL IN-GAME RULES FOR STAFF
1) Moderators are subject to all rules and protections in Section II when applicable.
- 1a) To be exempt from a rule, the moderator must be acting within the scope of their position.
2) Moderators may not take advantage of their position to advance their account. Doing so is grounds for immediate dismissal.
SECTION IV - MESSAGE BOARD AND COMMUNICATION RULES
1) This website is English. Please use English in all public communication.
2) Players may not flood or spam threads or chat.
3) Players may not post in ALL CAPS.
4) Players may make lotteries with a staff member's permission.
5) Players may not make off-topic posts.
6) Players may not make the "first" post in any normal forum or chat other than General Chat.
7) Players may not advertise account or item sales from other games.
8) Players may not post referral links anywhere on this website.
9) Players may not post or share pornographic or obscene images or links.
- 9a) Excessively obscene comments and sexual role-playing ("cybering") are forbidden everywhere.
10) Players may not advertise other text-based games.
- 10a) Discussing another text-based game not operated by PorcelainSky is prohibited.
11) Players may not excessively flame another player or group.
- 11a) If you respond in the same manner, you may not report the other player for flaming.
12) Players may not publicly complain about moderation actions.
13) Signature restrictions:
- 13a) Signatures must not exceed 590px length, 200px height, or 500kb size.
- 13b) No more than 2 non-emoticon images.
- ADULT CHAT RULES
14) Adult chat is for adult-oriented discussion only.
- 14a) Adult chat is the only place where alcohol, philosophy, politics, religion, and sex may be discussed publicly.
- 14b) Users under 18 are not allowed.
- GAMBLE AND TRADE CHAT RULES
15) Players entering Gamble Chat to gamble must follow through.
- 15a) Do not enter without money.
- 15b) Establish all terms before gambling.
- 15c) If unpaid after losing, screenshot and send to staff.
- ROLEPLAY CHAT RULES
16) All OOC posts should be in parentheses.
- 16a) AFK or BRB must also be in parentheses.
17) Character biographies belong in profiles, not roleplay chat.
18) Players may not god-mod.
19) Use proper communication; do not use text language.
20) Players may not argue about personal matters in chat; whispers are allowed.
21) Players may not criticize another player's writing skills.
22) Players may not act out graphic or sexual scenes.
- CEASE CONTACT ORDERS
23) A Cease Contact Order (CCO) is an edict requiring two users to cease contact across all communication methods.
- 23a) Violating a CCO is a serious offense.
- 23b) Assisting in circumventing a CCO is also a serious offense.
SECTION V - COVEN RULES
1) Covens may not flood players with invites via messages, comments, or battle sayings.
- 1a) Coven names may not be similar to existing covens.
2) Covens may be held responsible for member actions.
- 2a) Covens may not hide illegal money or items in treasury.
- 2b) Stolen funds may be seized if a member leaves to join another coven.
- 2c) Covens with high-level members caught multi-farming may be deleted.
3) Coven forums and chat must follow communication rules.
4) Coven tag colors cannot match or closely resemble orange, purple, red, or mod blue (#0066cc).
