Rules

Section I: Overview

1) These rules are a guideline to in-game behavior. When in doubt, the staff will examine the intent of the rules as a whole and apply them to each situation uniquely. In layman's terms, this means that if you do something that is not covered explicitly within these rules, you may still be punished if the action merits it.

2) Scot is the last word on any disputes involving these rules.
- 2a) Scot is exempt from all of the following rules.

3) If a player ever threatens the website or its administration with legal action of any kind, their account will be deleted and their premium purchases voided.

4) This website is a business. Any player who attempts to infame it or its staff, whether it be through defamation or illicit activities such as hacking or spamming advertisements, will be deleted. This website and its staff cannot be held responsible for the actions of a player.

5) By playing this game, you release this site and its staff from any liability of what happens in-game. YOU ALSO AGREE TO THE GAME'S TERMS AND CONDITIONS (accessible here) AND, THEREFORE, THIS GAME'S RULES, PRESENTED IN THE FOLLOWING TEXT.

TAKE NOTE: Your history in chat will be taken into account if you are banned. For example, for the first offense at spamming a chat, you may be banned up to 3 days. If you are found to repeat this offense, you can and will be banned for more days. So, when someone is banned for 5 days for inappropriate comments, and one is only banned for 3, do not complain that we are being unfair. It is your responsibility to read and know the rules before you enter the chat. Furthermore, by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions (TAC) when you signed up, you agreed to follow the rules.

Section II: General In-game Rules for Players

1) Players will never discriminate against any other player on the basis of race, sex, religion or nationality.

2) Players cannot have offensive names, nor can they have names which are meant to impersonate a staff member's.
- 2a) This also includes team names, clan names, and clan tags.

3) Any player who feels harassed or unnerved by another player may message any staff member with their complaint. If they continue to be harassed, then the offending player will be banned or jailed appropriately. Harassment is not tolerated in this game, and is dealt with severely. Report harassment: here
- 3a) Threatening any player with violence will also be construed as harassment and is also a punishable offence.
- 3b) Impersonating another player (for example, by taking a name similar to theirs) is also a form of harassment and, when reported, can also lead to moderation action.

4) Players cannot attempt to hack the game for any reason; players attempting to do so will be promptly deleted, and the FBI/Agency of their respective country will be contacted.

5) Players will not abuse bugs; if a player is found to be abusing a bug, they will be appropriately punished.

6) All accounts are property of the PorcelainSky portal and can be edited at any time. Selling an account, items or currency for real-world currency is strictly against the rules.

7) Players will respect staff members; if a disagreement occurs, they may respectfully request another staff member to review the specifics of the incident and offer opinion.
- 7a) Do not tell a staff member how to do their job.
- 7b) Do not ask to be a staff member or how to become one.

8) Disclosing the location or meaning of a game secret is punishable by a ban. Requesting information on a game secret is also punishable by a ban.
- 8a) Game secrets include: Question of the Day, and hangman words.

9) Players may not place items in the marketplace for ridiculous sums of money.

10) Profile rules:
- 10a) No hiding buttons on your profile (Attack, Add to Blacklist, etc...).
- 10b) Headers cannot exceed the limit of 200 pixels.
- 10c) No hiding the advertisements.

Section III: In-game Rules for Staff

1) Moderators are subject to all rules mentioned within Sections I, II, IV and V (exceptions may occur, when applicable; when brought to contention, clarification may be requested). To be exempt or immune to a rule, the moderator must be acting within the scope of their position (i.e., the moderator must be acting in such a way that they are considered to be exerting their staff position).

2) If a user believes they have been wronged by a moderator's actions, they must follow the outlined grievance procedure to seek remedy. This procedure is the only way to receive a reversal of any moderator action.

3) Grievance procedure:
- 3a) Contact another moderator to formally request an intervention on the user's behalf, include a screenshot of the full incident or the grievance is invalid. Moderators: note this message in its entirety (include date, time, and user's name / id) on the staff forum.
- 3b) At this point, user interaction ceases. Do not complain about the moderator's actions; this will invalidate the grievance procedure.
- 3c) Moderators: discussion begins regarding the complaint; a formal vote should be taken and recorded in the thread. This should all occur within 12 to 24 hours of the complaint's receival. A PLURALITY IS NECESSARY TO TAKE ACTION ON A MATTER; IF THE TIME PERIOD ELAPSES BEFORE ALL MODERATORS HAVE VOICED THEIR OPINIONS, THE MISSING MODERATORS ARE SAID TO HAVE ABSTAINED FROM THE DISCUSSION.
- 3d) Moderators: pending the discussion's end, the moderator who received the complaint may take the specified action. A message detailing the discussion's results must be mailed to the user; this includes any specified reasoning and/or warnings. User: Confirm receipt of said message. Grievance procedure ends here.

4) Moderators must always remain respectful to another player in the scope of their position; moderators conversing in normal fashion may adopt a casual tone.

5) Regarding moderators who have an excessive number of complaints against their actions (excessive, as determined by the staff members, on a situation-by-situation basis): formal complaints may be forwarded via moderators to Scot, who can take action at his discretion. The procedure parallels the grievance procedure, with the only exception being that Scot must be included in the discussion; time limits are irrelevant.

- 1c) "Firsting" in any chat other than General is frowned upon.

7) Signature rules:
- 7a) All signatures must be no more than 590 pixels in length, 200 pixels in height and 500 kilobytes in size.
- 7b) Players may have a maximum of two non-emoticon images in their signature. The combined dimensions and sizes of these images may not exceed the above limitations. (See: emoticons)

9) Players may not post their referral link anywhere on the website!

10) Players may discuss religion, philosophy, politics or sex (i.e., serious topics of discussion) only in Adult Chat.

Gamble & Trade Chat Rules

1) All players that gamble money in gamble chat must pay. If you do not then it is punishable with a forum/chat ban.

2) Before you engage in a game please ask how much the players are playing for and if you are comfortable with the stakes then proceed. It is also notable that K stands for thousand. 1K means 1,000, 2K means 2,000, mil is short for millions.

3) If people are in the middle of a game and you type /roll you are participating in their rules and must pay if you lose. If you go into gamble chat and type in a command like /roll or /flip without the nerve to lose you are indeed spamming and messing up the game.

4) If you do not have the money to play do not play.

5) If someone loses and you did not get their money report to the staff and they will handle the affair.

6) All general chat rules and site rules still apply.

Marketplace Overpricing Explanation

Introduction:
The Marketplace is a feature which allows users to sell other users their old or excess items. The intention of this feature was not for users to play the role of profiteers (one who makes what is considered an unreasonable profit), but for them to be able to sell their older items for a bit more than they could get at the Dungeon Armory.

This is not what is occurring, however; users are selling items for an excessive profit, and this page and its contents are aimed to prevent the unfair extortion of profits from new players in this manner, as well as to reduce the clutter that this issue produces in the Market.

Overview:
1) With the exception of items requiring premium to purchase, putting an item in the marketplace for more than its value at the Dungeon Armory is not allowed.
- 1a) Listing an item that requires premium to purchase from the Dungeon Armory with more than a 25% mark-up.
- 1b) Vials are an obvious exemption to this rule. Since their value is determined by knowledge of their effects, determining a fair value is difficult. Heinous amounts (amounts which deviate from the market average), however, will be dealt with appropriately.

2) Listing an item for an excessive amount of money in order to facilitate the repayment of a loan must be cleared with a moderator before the item is listed. Failure to do so will result in the poster being punished.

3) In the event of a new item being released which costs some alternate form of currency, rule one will be waived until an average and fair cost can be determined.

Transaction Policy

Introduction:
This addendum serves to document the Staff's official policy regarding the transfer of money between users and clans. It is meant to supplement the rules located on this page, not to supersede them.

Overview:
A legal transaction is defined as: any transaction that involves users or entities (such as clans) that accept the risk associated with transferring money (by transferring money, a user implies their understanding of these stipulations). The Staff will not intervene upon a legal transaction. In a nutshell, this means that moderators cannot make a user return any money or items lost in a legal transaction so be warned who you send your money to!

An illegal transaction is defined as: any transaction which involves a bug, an exploit or originates and ends up with users who share an I.P. If you believe that you have been the victim of an illegal transaction, do not hesitate to contact a moderator.

The staff will take actions when an illegal transaction has occurred and in certain cases.

All entities held within the confines of this site are the Intellectual Property of the PorcelainSky portal. Contracts and agreements of any kind held between parties are to be upheld by the respective parties only. The Game Staff will not intervene if one or more party does not uphold their end of the agreement. In laymen's terms, the staff will not intervene if you loan anything to someone and they do not pay you back.

User Accounts Policy

Introduction:
In the spirit of fair play, users are intended to be in possession of only one account; by having more than one account, an individual user is granted an unfair advantage over their fellow player. It is the intention of this addendum to clearly outline the accounts policy of this game.

Overview:
1) Users are limited to one account per person.
- 1a) In the event that a user creates another account, it will be considered a multiple account ("multi") and promptly jailed.
- 1b) Repeatedly creating multis will result in an IP ban. (Denial of access to the website completely)

2) More than one user may access the game at one location (IP), but with the following stipulations:
- 2a) Users may not transfer money to another user on the same IP; if a user is found doing so, they will be jailed.
- 2b) Sharing a location with a user who has previously violated the rules may also result in your account being jailed or deleted.
- 2c) A message must be sent to at least one of the Game Staff, stating that there is another person on the IP. We must know the relation of the person to the first account, and how long the IP will be shared. Failure to do so will be an immediate jail sentence for the second account. This also puts you in no special terms; just because you let us know, does not mean you are immune to having the second account jailed. It will be at the Staff's discretion to allow the account or not.

3) By creating an account on this website, a user implies that they are over the age of 16; if they are not, then it is implied that they have sought parental permission for playing. If this is found to be false, then they will be jailed without notice.
