5% Deposite Fee

A really minor bug, but the fee doesn't apply to exactly $10 being deposited. I'm mostly curious if this isn't actually a bug, but by design for some reason.

I don't think it's a bug, but more like because it rounds to .5, and CW's currency goes by whole numbers rather than decimals.

10 x .05 = .5

( .05 converts to 5% )

But if I were to add $9, it would round to under a lower number, but the fee still would remove $1.

Probably because it multiplies to .45, so it's under half. Same for 11, except it's over half. Could be I'm wrong, but it just seems to make sense lol

I don't understand, why would .45 round up to 1, .55 round up to 1, but exactly .5 round to 0?

That's what I don't understand either. You would think it would round up to 1 too :o

It's been like that ever since it was implemented, ages ago. Not a bug, just a math deal that's minor enough to not warrant worrying about.

Who would really deposit $10 at a time out of thousands, potentially hundreds of thousands, just to bypass the tax? Rhetorical question, no one.

Also, congratulations on having me post for the first time in ages. Geological ages.

It is set that way to prevent exploits.

If no charge were given on a deposit of less than 10 what would stop someone from taking X amount of money and depositing it in $10 increments thus avoiding any fee?

Whitewolf, I think there's a misunderstanding. As it is now, there is no means of stopping people from depositing in $10 increments to avoid the fee (aside from it being tedious and time-consuming). There is a fee on everything except for $10 exactly, which has no fee. That's what the bug is.
