Okay this is the situation.
I invited some people to join my coven.
They did get the notification in the top right corner of the screen (in purple).
They have clicked on that and saw the invite but they didn't accept nor declined the invite so it is still active (can't send a new one) but they can't find the invitation anymore.
So where can one see the invites one has had?

Coven invites show up in Notifications, under Covens. There is a bug with covens and has been since August. Apparently invites getting deleted or can't be found is also being affected, I would assume. If covens have their Membership Setting set to Accepting Applications, someone within the coven will have to manually accept them. The Invite option allows members to join without having to be manually accepted.

Until this issue is fixed, I'd suggest manually accepting those members who you invite or changing the membership setting to Everyone Accepted.

Through Join coven it was possible for him to join us, that counted as accepting the invitation. So that is solved.

But they were not found under notifications and then coven messages.
So I fear that is indeed part of the coven bug then.
