What I don't understand is the difference between a Normal Player and a Trusted Community Member.

someone with high karma

What determines "high karma?" I would need a number, because that's what I'm really confused about.

Game age determines the amount of Karma you get. You get 1 Karma for each 30 days you are old. So a player who has been here a month only gets 1 Karma based on their game age.

If you aren't receiving Karma, you won't be listed as Trusted Community Member. At one time there was a thread about this, but as I have been looking through General and Suggestion, I'm not finding that O_o.

Maybe someone with a better memory than mine can point you in the right direction.

You must also be a premium user in order to give Karma.

My only confusion is how do you become listed as a Trusted Community Member? It's only a pet peeve, not anything I'm really worried about.

There is a formula used in order to figure out how many Karma you need to receive in order to become Trusted Community Member, but as I pointed out above, I haven't come across the thread where that is listed. I remember trying to figure it out right after Karma was put into the game, and in all honesty, I can't recall how I did that.

Hopefully someone will come along and read this and refresh our memories.

By what I've seen it generally takes a minimum of around 350 positive karma to gain "trusted" status, granted there are probably other factors that are taken into account, merely that they are unknown.

It is my own speculation that "trusted" status is based on a percentage of good karma received vs bad after one passes a certain threshold of positive karma. For example lets assume the threshold is +300 karma, a user with 300 positive karma and no negative karma received would be trusted (100%) as opposed to a user with +300 karma, but 600 positive and 300 negative (~66%) so both stipulations would need to be satisfied before one receives "trusted" status. This could be why some users have more karma and no trusted status while others with lesser karma but still positive do, staff not included of course.

Again this is just my guess, unless Scot tells us himself there is no sure way of knowing.
