Never Looking Back

Silence... solitude...

Nothing but the eerie emptiness of my surroundings.

The attempts to diminish the black cloud hoovering above me

Have all been washed away by no longer caring.

All those hopes... all those dreams...

Seem to have disappeared with little fear.

It would seem the road less traveled for me

Is that road that connects love, honesty, & loyalty.

Do I choose to stay or do I choose to leave?

So many memories... so much more heartache...

Have left nothing but scars that wind deep within to the core.

So live life in remorse & heartache, or live life anew...

Slowly the cover which bounds the pages

Closes slowly on this chapter

As this chapter ends, so does my placing here.

Where I'll go, no one surely knows.

But with taking my leave, I shall never look back

For looking back would mean that I had regrets of choices I made.

And to regret would mean to change the way your life's story is written.

So I choose to leave & never look back.

But please don't ask me to stop remembering you, because that's the only way I can stay alive,

Knowing that you're happy, keeps me going,

Knowing that you're smiling, removes all my pain,

Please don't ask me to stop loving, just like that,

I need a little time, I sure will try,

I'll hide my love, I'll conceal my tears, but please dear don't look too deep into these eyes or you might find what I fear,

I'll turn my head, when you hug her, I'll stop my heart from beating when you kiss her

I'll try my best to lie to myself,

That I don't love you, that you don't deserve me,

It hurts real bad, knowing that you love someone else,

Life is an obstacle of unseen realities
Never knowing what is going to happen next
Always a tragedy or a miracle
Justifying the reason as to
What a thought consists of
How cruel or blessing
The reality of our world can be
All depends on the purpose of our existence
Only time itself
Can relay that message for us

Nightmare Ending

As the tears welled up
And spilled over her lids
Staining her rosy cheeks
She closed her eyes
Remembering the wonderment of her past
She sighed as a half-hearted smile
Curled at the corner of her lips
That smile soon faded
As the tears fell
Like mighty rushing rivers
Pounding over a waterfall
To the rocks below
Once her mind was full of joy and hope
All that remained within
Are the nightmares of pain, fear & abandonment
Her once pure of light heart
Now was simply nothing more
Than a dark & barren wasteland
Beating slowly within the cavity of her chest
She craved nothing more
Than to feel the grace of love
Upon her soul once more
She attempted to make sense
Of all her thoughts & feelings
Trying to search within for the answers
Ever reason drew a blank to her thoughts
Reassuring her conscious with ease
That she had done everything in her power
To make their union successful
Though there was no possibility of such
She focused her mind
On what steps she needed to distribute next
She needed to stand her ground
Finally on her own two feet
Take her life into her own hands
And leave behind this prison of hell
She had made the calls in her life for so long
It was not time
To close the door on this chapter
And begin anew.

A single rose
Can grow in a bed of weeds

Which continues to battle the search within
Seeking the will for confidence
To lower a protective barrier
Of fear and concern
An aura that stands out among the crowd
Breathtaking and majestic
A gem in this world
Rare and precious
That no amount of money could change
Forever beautiful and strong
Forever the world's gift

Lies cover my world
Like a diseases corpse
My life begin to rot and decay
I felt I could trust you
The one person who understood
And you destroyed all that
Now I sit here wondering
Why was I so stupid?
Why was I so blind?
To think that you honestly loved me
I had been living a lit
So the question I present to you
What is to become of us?
Where are these unclaimed feelings to go?
So you sit there in your little world
And take the time to think
Would you rather live the truth
Or would you rather live the lie?
Time to pick up the pieces
And carve the path for your life
That is something you must decide

Moonlight dances across my face
Draws me back to a world of chaos
Shadows of my past are drawn before me
Questions asked with no reflecting answers
To run away does no justice
For the horrors haunt me again
I can`t deny what is true
As the traces of my sins
Rip at me from the inside
That is when the insanity sets in
No one is safe to trespass
Scratching and clawing to escape
But still the visions hold me back
In the end, all I can do
Is let the insanity consume me

Familiar faces pass through my memory
I attempt to piece together the connections
Only to find that there is no recollection of them
Time races along and still these faces haunt me
Searching through the memory and history
Still I find nothing
The past is still so full of questions and unknown answers
Seeking what I need to fuel the determination to drive on
Digging and scratching to get the the surface of the truth
Only I find myself back at the beginning
Back to the drawing board
Never knowing where I came from
Or who I am
What will consist of this nightmare I call my life?
A heart which one used to bear warm boiling blood
Slowly freezes becoming a wasteland of ice
The frigidness of my existence
Is now what I consider home
Uncovered questions and answers
Frozen away deep inside
Never would they be revealed
But, to devour slowly until nothing is left
Except the silence of wonder
