Chapter 1

“You got a light?” Ron asked.
“Yeah” Natasha replied grabbing her lighter, “here.”
As Ron caught the lighter he rumbled through his pocket and gripped his packet of cigarettes, as he took the packet out of his pocket, he peered inside, and he had two left.
“You want one Tash?” he questioned.
“You know I don’t smoke Ron.” Tash smirked.
Tash looked at Ron as he lighted up his cigarette, Ron Hamming is a 5’8 male with blonde hair with lovely blue eyes; Ron has been her friend since the start of this thing. He gained a battle scar over his right eye after failing to save his wife and child. As long as she’s known him, he’s always carried a Trench Shovel and several packets of cigarettes.
“Where are we going anyway?’ Ron whispered as he took a draw of his cigarette.
“I don’t know anywhere.” Tash shook her head and answered.
As they crossed the empty road Natasha noticed something out the corner of her eye, she quickly turned and saw a dark figure rushing at her, Tash pulled out her Beretta 92 from her holster and shot the figure square in the head making it instantly drop to the ground, the sound of the gun echoed around the street.
“Fuck!” Tash roared. “I forgot the silencer.”
Ron stared at her with a blank face while the cigarette smoke surrounded him. He grabbed his cigarette and tossed it to the ground and stomped on it putting it out. As he looked around he saw more and more shadows appearing and slight murmurs and groans, He gripped his shovel tightly and held it in an attacking position. Tash placed her Beretta tightly in her hands.
“Fuck the silencer now.” mumbled Ron.
Growls from the zombies grew louder and their outlines should be seen in the shadows, Ron took a deep breathe.
“Ready?”
Suddenly large growls could be heard as six zombies charged towards them, Ron readied his shovel for a swinging motion ready for the first zombie, and it didn’t take too long until he slammed the shovel down into the face of the first knocking it back. He quickly raised his weapon again waiting for zombie to charge back; as it did Ron took another swing hitting the corpse in the head dropping it to the ground, he quickly took his shovel and drove it into the head of the zombie, crushing it skull.
Tash rapidly shot four rounds into a slow walking zombie making it fall to the floor with ease, then she turned towards another firing another five rounds dropping a second, unexpectedly a third stumbling zombie charged at Tash, quickly she fired her last three rounds into the chest of the running corpse.
“Fuck, I’m out of ammo!” shouted Tash.
Ron quickly cracked his shovel straight into the neck of his third corpse snapping it jugular, Ron turned to see Tash fleeing from the foe.
“Tash, run this way!” screamed Ron.
Swiftly Tash spun around and ran in the direction of the soulless corpse quickly dodging its grip and ran on the way to Ron.
Ron readied his shovel and waited for Tash to run by him, as she did he swung with all his force and hit the corpse precisely in the face making it stumble back but then as quick as stumbled it quickly regained focus it charged again crashing into Ron.
“Ron, NOOO!” shrieked Tash as she ran to try and help.
“No Tash, don’t help!” replied Ron as he punched the corpse in the face.
Ron quickly took a swift left and right punch to the zombie’s head, the corpse toppled over onto the ground. Ron got up and looked into the distance and saw three more running figures.
“Take my shovel Tash.” He whispered “I’ll take these guys alone.”
“No, I can’t!”
“GO! JUST BELIEVE IN ME.”
Tash quickly grabbed his shovel and ran off down the street.
“COME ON YOU BASTARDS, IT’S JUST YOU AND ME NOW” shouted Ron as he grabbed a cigarette out of his packet.

Chapter 2

As Tash turned the last corner of the plagued streets, sounds of snarls and screams dimmed to complete silence. Tash stopped and took a few deep breathes then looked up and around to see if there was anywhere to rest. She noticed a Bakery two building down so she slowly walked up to a shop and peered through the window.
“Food!” she thought to herself.
She opened the door cautiously trying not to make it squeak and crept inside raising her newly given shovel. Tash swiftly checked behind the counter, just as quickly jumped back as she saw a brutally shredded corpse. Tash turned to see a barrel of a Winchester pointed at her face.
“Human?” said the hooded figure.
“…Yes.”
“Bitten, scratched?” shot back the hooded character.
“…No.”
The hooded figure lowered his weapon and placed it on the counter. He lowered his hood and extended his hand. Tash grabbed his hand and shook it.
“The name is Natasha Woods.” greeted Tash.
“I am Chris.” He responded.
“Last name?” asked Tash.
“No need for last names anymore.” replied Chris.
Chris had brown curly hair with complementing dark coloured eyes, wearing a black t-shirt, black trousers and brandishing a hooded cape.
“Are you alone?” Chris replied.
“I am yes.”
“Well, there is a place with food a few hours away from here, you’re welcome to tag along.”
“I’d love too.” Tash smiled.
Chris grabbed his weapon and headed out the door. Tash followed with caution as they exited the shop, she looked around to see if she could see any zombies. As usual there were, Tash raised her shovel into attack position.
“Don’t, we don’t want to attract it attention.” sighed Chris.
Tash lowered her shovel and shadowed Chris through the dead empty streets for what seemed to be two hours.
In the distance she could hear the sound of gun fire; suddenly Chris started running and raised his hood over his head. Tash quickly sprinted after him, as she looked onwards she saw something big form in the shadows.
“Shit!” growled Chris.
“What the hell is that?” asked Tash.
“Advancement in the virus!” proclaimed Chris.
As they ran through the street the giant outline became much clearer. The zombie was massive and full of muscle; it had spikes bursting out of its arms. As she turned slightly she saw three survivors outside on the road and a few more on top of a gun store roof.
“Get a fire arm at the gun store, now!” shouted Chris.
Tash ran past Chris as he started shooting the big creature, she jumped over a dead corpse and towards the three men outside. One of them nodded towards someone on the roof.
“Open it up quickly!” shouted the man.
“Okay Alexandro!” the other figure replied.
The giant beast started to growl making an echo around the area causing smaller growls to rise up. Tash turned around to see a ton of smaller shadows appear in the darkness. She turned to look at the oversize zombie to see Alexandro get crushed by the fist of beast, suddenly she door behind her unlocked and opened.
“Quick, get in!” said the man “follow me!” as he opened the door, Chris and another male followed.
Tash quickly stood behind the man as he quickly locked the door, not to long afterwards they all followed the male down into a safe room under the shop.
