Do you have read a book (or several) you would like to recommend?
I loved Friedman: "Black sun rising" (Fantasy).
It's taking place on a planet where dreams and emotions create real monsters. The main persons are the narrator (a good priest) and an evil demon (who is the real main person). They are forced to work together.
Nice is: Eoin Colfer: "Artemis Fowl" (Fantasy).
It's about a super-intelligent teenage boy (despite the female name) who manages to discover the fairy folks who live underground. He presses a really high amount of gold from the fairy folk. There is a lot of hightech involded both made by humans and made be the fairy folk (!).
OK, short mention for the classics: The hobbit, Lord of the rings, Bram Stoker: "Dracula", all by Poe, Harry Potter, Harry Dresden (all more or less Fantasy or Horror).
EDIT: Ok Harry Dresden isn't a classic.

Harry Dresden is a classic. Nothing is more classy than riding a zombie t-rex through downtown chicago to fight undead indians spawned by nazi necromancers.
And I love reading anything by Neil Gaiman
