so yeah...last night I was bored and I couldn't get any sleep, right? so I decide to look up some stuff about skyrim...something interesting i found was this:
http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/nklj2/you_know_those_runes_on_the_lids_of_the_bug_jars/
this: http://i.imgur.com/2ulYs.jpg
and this: http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/n6ru5/lunar_eclipse/
most of the first link is tl;dr, but one of the comments actually caught my eye. The theory is mostly related to FMA and it's parallel to skyrim. Basically the 5 cities you go to (whiterun, morthal, dawnstar, winterhold, and windhelm) connect to form a pentagram, and the theory about how the pentagram works, is that it may be a transmutation circle (kind of like in FMA), but there's 5 steps on how to activate it (steps are at the bottom of this thread...not the link's thread) Also about the pentagram, you can find the picture in the second link in the museum in dawnstar when you do the misc. quest to help the museum owner reforge mehrune's dagger.
Also, I think the black star daedric artifact actually works into all of this too, considering the fact that it kind of has similarities to the philosopher's stone from FMA, and possible reality...
supposed Steps to activate the pentagram:
Step 1: First comes the crests of blood. Basically just go on a killing spree in each of the 5 cities.*
•Step 2: The inner Pentagon. The dragons must be enough to suffice for each point in the inner pentagon, and the Tower Stone unlocks the ability to use the transmutation circle.
•Step 3: Head to the Weynon Stones and place the bugs in the jars in a circle on the altar, placing each bug corresponding to it's respective cities location. These will act as your sacrifices.
•Step 4: Wait for "The Promised Day"** to activate your transmutation circle and obtain ultimate power.
notes
*=another comment theorizes that step one may actually require you to kill a dragon in each of the 5 cities instead of going on a killing spree in each of the 5 cities listed.
**=the "promised day" May be during a full solar eclipse...Just like in FMA. Although, It's not known if this full solar eclipse happens in game, or if it happens in real life, if it's in real life, then the next one would happen on November 12, 2012.
Skyrim conspiracy (bugs in jars)

The first link explains it better than I do, so...yeah, I'd go there first.

This is awesome, it'd be even more awesome if it is for real. Though I think I lost one of the bugs...
Oh and the Bugs in a jar are part of a for real quest.
I cannot recall the quest but it's in the game guide (of which I have let a friend borrow)

Well the quest would have to be active for them to do that, wouldn't it.
I think Captured Critter is the quest name...

see, whenever I look this up on the elder scrolls wiki the quest you speak of doesn't show up. It says stuff about the bugs in jars, mainly about it not currently having any purpose in the game...yet when you look into the jar from the bottom when you're in the misc items menu, there's runeic writing...the people in that first link's thread believe the writing on each jar translates to the required items for the transmutation circle to work...>.> or something like that.

I guess we'll see... someone is bound to figure it out. Especially on the PC.

meh...the signs mostly point to it being a DLC involving the thalmor...that or Talos coming back...
also, update: there's two other places like the waynon stones, which may or may not imply that there's you have to put one jar in each of the 5 possible places like the waynon stones... Again, most of the reddit thread is TL
R, so...hell it may just end up being like Bigfoot from GTA San Andreas.Want to join the conversation?
