Coven Allies

I was thinking today what could make a coven more interesting, Why not have an option to Pledge Allies to an others? So they can help one another to better their covens then once they have completed what they wish to do they can disband the covens. Taking away what they have earned and having the experience split down the centre. Yes you could have Mercenariness etc for your coven but what better way to increase the coven by joining them together to quicken the process and both parties benefit from it. To solve an arguments you could place a disclaimer that is shown when the person is apply to join the covens together that notifies them that the experience earned will be split down the center and that if they are not willing to agree upon that, then it is suggested that they do not continue.

Its a good idea, but it needs improvement. What would happen if for an example, Crimson Nights, one of the biggest and strongest Covens, were to ally with some random coven that is brand new? Would the two covens disband and become one Coven? How would they decide who is leader? There would be alot of problems with this suggestion, and it would probably be hard to code in to the game. But other then that, its good.

I've thought about suggesting Coven Alliances before but there are many aspects to be considered that make it a complex system, such as... what happens when two of your allied Coven attack each other? Would they be required to take each other as allies cause you are allies? (Friend of a friend concept) What is to prevent ALL covens from all joining a few Alliances (or just one)?
I think that an Alliance feature would be really cool BUT there is a lot to consider to have it done right.

I do quite like this idea, but maybe a Coven is only allowed say, 1 contract at a time? Mainly because as Ww pointed out, what if two Covens you are allied with attack each other. But other than that, I think it's great.

what it is an agreement between both owners of the coven the leaders would be the coven owners it would not be a single leader situation. The leaders of the covens still have control over their covens but have an allies to help one another better their covens. The two covens when disband would leave with the same amount of people, weapons etc they originally had unless people had left the coven. The covens do not get completely combined just brought together to receive points to level up the coven. I'm not suggesting that each coven has access to an others (simply because that could result in theft or sabotage) simply that each coven has an allies to one another they can trade etc between one another if they wish to but only the owners of the covens can have access to do such a thing. Weapons etc should be able to be lent to the other coven for the period of time that the coven has joined together although once the covens disband the coven will automatically receive what was lent out back unless it was a permanent trade that was agreed amount by the owners of the covens.
Great point about the what if they attack each other if you were allowed to be allied with more then one coven well here is my thought. You can only be allied with one coven at a time for a certain period of time and depending on the period of time goes by the amount of money your willing to pay to have that period of time. when one coven goes to war the other as well will go to war to fight along side the coven that it is allied too.
As for the experience points why not have it so that the points are kept to the side till the allies runs out to which then the points will be separated among the two covens to an equal share. That saves any problems that may be encountered about any unfair points that could be given out.

Well with that a few issues arise... What happens to the Covens should they decide to end their alliance? Do they equally split the resulting benefit of their arrangement? What happens if one coven does not contribute as much to the allianace? Does the greater of the two get the short end of the stick?
By the sound of it this would be a greater benefit to newer less established Covens, and ones that are already established would only benefit if they ally with a Coven of equal power lest one of the two Covens suffer a disadvantage making the Alliance pointless.

it is all apart of the agreement if the covens do not agree with what the alliance includes (which is that either way whether or not the other coven contributes as much as the other the experience will still be split down the middle) yes they will leave with what there coven originally had only have more experience. The point of the alliance is so that great covens can help newer covens to better there covens not only that but that two greater covens can come together and work together to lets say hypothetically they can work together to take out a better coven then the both of them and hopefully work together to over power the stronger coven it only makes the game that bit more interesting.

But Covens are competitive, one coven just helping another just because is not likely without some other benefit. As for taking down larger covens what prevents the larger covens from also taking on allies to prevent being overpowered? It is more likely weaker covens would flock to ally with the strongest than with a slightly less strong coven to go against them.

But that is all the point it makes it all that bit more interesting wouldn't you agree? The benefit to the stronger coven is that they will have a better coven to take war on other then the lower level ones which will equally more experience as for any other benefits well if they decide to trade they may gain something they may not have. There are plenty of benefits to be made you simply have to find them
