Staff Announcement
01/10/13 3:04 pm
Unfortunately due to recent events, I have to make an announcement about this, because some people do not realize this even when told by staff so this is a public announcement.

1.) Players are not permitted to discuss jailed accounts or ask about them with Staff. This has been a rule for several years now and has not been changed nor will it be changed. Staff are bound by confidentiality and we will not discuss another players account or punishment with anyone besides that person. Refusing to follow this will result in a ban (if not followed after ban, bans can lengthen and result in jail time.)

2.) Coven Wars as well as Porcelain Sky, does not tolerate any discrimination or harassment of any kind. If you have proof of being harassed please contact a staff member and we will discuss the proper means of solving the issue. If the harassment does not stop, the harasser can lose access to the site.

3.) It is against the rules to impersonate a Staff member by name or ACTIONS. If you do so you can be administered a warning.

4.) Refusal to heed any warnings administered by staff can lead to a ban. Depending on severity of the issue, this can lead to your account being jailed.

I feel I should point out this is an "Announcement" what is posted above is not open for discussion/debate. If you feel the need to comment, you can, just know what is above is set in stone unless otherwise stated by Scot.

So if there is a complaint...what do we as the users get to do about it? Just curious if there is a place for us to complain about it without breaking any of the forementioned rules? I think we should be allowed to atleast rant about our frustations without getting in trouble.

If anyone has a complaint, whether that is against another user or something game wise, message a member of the game staff. Discussion of bans and jailings concerning a user of this site are not to be discussed period. If anyone feels they must rant, moderators will listen and take concerns into consideration, but publicly discussing these types of things will not be tolerated.

If the complaint and issues are that severe, your first actions should be screen shots and then contact a moderator. The issues will be dealt with accordingly.

If user can civilly resolve their issue without mod involvement, they should, but in a manner that is appropriate (ex. no flaming, trolling, spamming, arguing or any other negative behavior) if one attempt does not rectify the issue then pass it over to a staff member. Any further attempts will more ofter than not only agitate the situation, but reflect negatively upon yourself.

Basiclly, if you don't like what someone is doing, other than things like killing you (it's an integral part of the game, get over it) ask them to stop, if they don't, report it. Simple as that. Don't cause a scene, don't throw a bitch-fit, etc.

I meant like if you had a a complaint on an issue that you can't discuss with mods because its a bannable offense like say, unfair jailings, bans, deletion of accounts to allow the user to create another. Any of those. We can't speak of those with the mods as they are not allowed to discuss them so what do we do if we think its unfair and have reasons for it?

I'm only asking in case there is a need to do so for the future. If we can't discuss it with mods can we rant about it in the 'rant forum' without getting in trouble or is it still against the rules and we should just not say anything?

Again, jailings, bans and anything concerning another users account, that is not your own, are not to be discussed with anyone. If you feel that strongly about any of the above issues, talk to Scot.

Users are NOT allowed to rant in the Rant Forum about any of these issues. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about "Do not discuss it anywhere." I think that is clear enough to understand.

If there is still confusion on whether or not discussing this is allowed please read over the following carefully:

1.) Players are not permitted to discuss jailed accounts or ask about them with Staff. This has been a rule for several years now and has not been changed nor will it be changed. Staff are bound by confidentiality and we will not discuss another players account or punishment with anyone besides that person. Basically, you can ask about your own account as much as you like, but not other user's accounts.

Obviously if a user is jailed, they won't be able to ask but will most likely know exactly why they've been jailed, if a legitimate case of unjust jailing occurs, more often than not another Mod will catch it and rectify it, but those cases are few and far between, and almost non-existent with and long established staff team, but we're all human, mistakes can be made, but they can also be fixed.

So just enjoy the game, play nice with the other users, follow the rules and everything should be smooth sailing.

No I got that but I wanted to make sure if there WAS a place WHERE it was allowed without getting in trouble. It's not about not getting it, it's wanting to find out if there was another means. Some places say you can't discuss things anywhere but a complaints forum or a rant forum but its not openly said where it is allowed, you tend to have to ask. Clearly there is not place here. Thank you.
